2013 Tour Applications are HERE!

Katie : March 11, 2013 8:38 pm : All Updates, News

Co-cycle is now accepting rider applications for the 2013 Seattle to Boston Tour! We’re looking for all sorts of fun and adventurous folks to be a part of this years tour.

Here’s a excerpt from our rider application to give you a general idea of what being a Co-cyclist is all about:

We are a dedicated collective, working to organize a fun, safe, challenging, and exhilarating adventure that you will never forget. The riders will also form a collective, working together to make the tour possible, therefore each cyclist is not just “along for the ride.”  We function cooperatively, with each member having an equal say in decision making. Co-cycle is constantly morphing and growing through the work and play of each participant.

That being said, your participation in Co-cycle will be a very demanding experience, physically, mentally and emotionally, so you must be dedicated to flexibility and communication.  For example, here is a typical day in the life of a co-cyclist:

Wake-up
Prepare communal meal / takedown camp
Route meeting
BIKING (20-30 miles)
Snack
BIKING (20-30 miles)
Snack
BIKING (20-30 miles)
Prepare communal meal / set-up camp
Group meeting/ CHECK-INS
SLEEP

You will be dirty for most of the trip, a convolution of sweat, dirt and nut butters.

If any of this sounds intriguing, challenging, awesome or just downright weird, you should consider APPLYING to be a rider in the 2013 tour!

Co-cycle can.

Thirteen college students, mostly hailing from Amherst, Mass., constitute Co-cycle, which biked through Del Norte on Monday during their nationwide tour designed to raise support and awareness for cooperatives.
